A Revenue Officer who, under the guise of correcting the record, adjudicates a stranger's title acts beyond his power and an order so made against a man long dead and without notice to his recorded heirs is a nullity that section 172 does not protect. An entry confers no title, he who claims through it must prove the transaction behind it.
