This case is about a drug trafficking FIR registered in 2013 against a man named Abdul Qudoos, who was allegedly caught with 60 kilograms of charas and 20 kilograms of opium by police officers in Quetta. After investigation, the Investigating Officer found serious problems with the case: the key witness's signature was missing from the recovery memo and he denied witnessing any recovery, an earlier investigating officer said he was never actually assigned to or visited the scene, the seized drugs were never properly sealed and were found lying openly at the police station, and it appeared the whole case had been fabricated by police officials to protect themselves from a separate kidnapping case filed against them by the accused's brother. Based on these findings, the Magistrate discharged the accused as innocent. The police officers involved, including two DSPs and an SP, were later dismissed from service after a departmental inquiry confirmed the allegations.
